Athletic Socks & How Bigger Wrestlers Can Utilize Them

By Rob Sutter

Professional wrestling is partially about the spectacle and there are many instances which fit this category as well. For example, you may see great moments of high impact during a match that you come away recalling for some time to come. Other times, it's the wrestlers in particular and I believe that the big man performers are some of the most impressive in terms of how they are aesthetically. I also think that they'd be good candidates for athletic socks and I have my reasons for believing so.

I don't think that there's an act easier for fans than to call out bigger wrestlers for being "boring" in the ring. This has to do with the idea that they do not move about at the speed that they should; they seem to perform sluggishly for what appears to be an eternity. There are quite a few cases, though, which show that wrestlers of this magnitude can actually pull of fantastic matches. I believe that it's just a matter of them overcast by a large group of underachievers.

It's apparent that there is a mixture of tall wrestlers; for every Undertaker who is a legend in the making, there is a Great Khali worth forgetting about. With the bouts involving the latter, it almost seems painful watching because it's a case of there being a great deal of lumbering about. As far as the pain is concerned, I could see the legs taking on a great deal of stress from having to work constantly. Wouldn't a different article of clothing be able to take some strain off?

Footwear may not be one of the most vital tools, at first glance, but you will soon change your tune after seeing what athletic socks can do. I think that this can prove to be of great worth for anyone, whether they are involved in wrestling or not. With companies such as PRO Compression, which endorse these socks, it's clear that they can work to help you perform better. Considering that that they work to keep one's feet from becoming quickly fatigued, they are a great asset for any player.

From what I've learned, the career span of really tall wrestlers is not that long most of the time. Of course, there are exceptions such as Kane who began with the company back in the mid 90's; he is still performing full time, which speaks volumes about his longevity. Not everyone is so lucky, though, and they wind up becoming worse off for it as they grow slow and unable to perform at the same level as before. It's all a matter of tonnage and, in my estimation, luck.
